Formed in January of 2007, Roots Advocates for Youth is an official non-profit organization that focuses on providing lasting improvements in society with an emphasis on helping children, and creating a safe, modern, and controlled recreational environment for children and their families. Roots Skatepark committee is dedicated to planning, designing, fundraising, constructing and maintaining a 13,000 square foot, in ground, concrete recreational facility for the youth of Kohala.
